I helped people who hadn't pre-registered check in. My kids sat in the bike trailer and listened to Magic Tree House audio books.

We volunteered to help out with the 5k put on by the choir that Colby sings in. It seemed like a good way to support the choir and get some volunteer points. We were assigned to help with check in so that we could race and volunteer. I checked in people who registered after the registration list was printed and who hadn't pre-registered. It was interesting to see how small the race was and to try to brainstorm how to make it bigger. As far as I can see, getting it on Running in the USA only got a few extra participants. There were only 2 5ks on the west side of Cleveland today, so I don't think competing races was necessarily the issue.
