When we arrived at 5:00am and it's already hot & humid, you know it's going to be a long day! Then to find out about half the people that signed up for the race didn't even show-up! LOL Kelly and I ran using here 2 loop run, 1 loop power walk strategy, and it worked well for the first 4-5 hours, then it got HOT!! There was a nice steady wind, but the direct sun and high humidity kept our heart rates very high. In the end I achieved my minimum 50K goal, but would have liked more, if it wasn't for the heat and a right foot screaming at me to stop! :-) Kelly rang in 42 hard earned miles for her longest distance yet.
