Valley City Street Fair Road Race
NEW Cat. 1, 2, 3, Class  and Masters 35+ (Cat.3,4,5) for 2007 Valley City
Street Fair Road Race!  See you there!!!

RACE RESULTS

SnakeBite Racing sponsored the the First Annual Valley City Street Fair Road Race, a USCF Sanctioned event, in August of 2004.  Our goal was to provide a course with the best that Valley City had to offer. The beautiful 12.2 mile rolling circuit course, highlighting the charm of the city during the Valley City Street Fair and character of riding through "the Barn" on Barn Run along with several hills accomplished our goaI.  A portion of the race proceeds benefit the  Valley City Volunteer Fire Department.

2004 Review:  Mother Nature cooperated and provided a dry course for the field of 107 racers. Positive comments were received on how well everyone liked the course. The racers enjoyed the longer course versus a short course.  Race results have been submitted to the USCF and are posted on their website. (www.usacycling.org) Simply click on “Search Events” and type in valley city street fair rr to view the results.

2005 Review:
The 2nd Annual Valley City Street Fair Road Race was a huge success. We had a total of 139 racers. Last year we had 107. Our goal was 125, so we were very excited for the support from the cycling community. We had a strong showing of local racers from the greater Cleveland area as well as riders from PA, WV, MN, NY, CA and IL. In addition to the standard USCF category races, we hosted a race for the Senior Olympic Games folks which consisted of 18 racers from this group doing two laps, or 24 miles.

The swag bags each racer received were a big hit. We had several sponsor flyers/stickers/posters in them along with a nice water bottle and pack of Accel Gel. Our Women's Cat.4/Citizen group were awarded Longaberger baskets and key chains. Our Men's Cat.5/Citizen group received medals and a can of Accelerade. The balance of the cat. fields received cash, with a total payout of $800.

Services from the Medina County ReAct people were available for communications and marshalling along with many team, friend, and sponsor volunteers. The addition of a follow car with each race was a welcome addition to this year’s event. We used a pace and follow car for each race out on the course. Road hazards were well marked and traffic was never a problem out on the open course.

In support of our Valley City Street Fair, which is a fund raiser for the Fire Department a generous donation was once again made to the Valley City Fire Department along with a donation to Medina ReAct for their services.
